About Me

Hello and welcome to Paleo in the Desert. I am so excited to go on this journey with you. My hope is that my dishes will inspire you to use in your kitchen or give you that nudge to create your own. Many will be South of the Border inspired, but really it will be anything that I am dreaming about at the moment.

My name is Andrea. I am a former engineer who now gets to stay home and enjoy my 2 kiddos. My family and I live in the beautiful desert of Phoenix. I love to travel, do anything outdoors and cook. I have always loved to cook and entertain. My husband and I went Paleo 2 1/2 years ago and have never looked back. It took a little time to restock my pantry and figure out how to recreate all of our favorite foods, but it has been such a joy and an adventure. My husband and I met in Mexico and a lot of what I cook pays homage to his upbringing and all that I learned from my wonderful friends, family and neighbors in Mexico. We also love to try new things and are on a constant search for new and delicious things. Being a mom of two and having such a  busy schedule, a lot of what I do is try and keep it simple and fast. Welcome and I look forward to sharing with you!

You know you are the reason I cook at all! You have always inspired me in the kitchen and the only thing that beats your meals is your company while eating them. =) I am really impressed by your undertaking of this new healthy journey and how you have not only committed to your wellness through diet, but been the artist behind such beautiful, delicious cuisine a la Rodriguez. I’m so excited that my personal chef hero now has this blog for me to follow!!!!! SALUD!

    Your Biggest Fan,
